What is
GhostIt?

GhostIt automatically aligns two handheld videos directly on your phone, letting athletes and coaches compare performances on location, right after each attempt, without a tripod, operator, or special setup.

What is GhostIt? 1/5. What GhostIt lets you do: GhostIt lets you compare your performance against someone else, or against your own previous attempts, right where you train. It automatically aligns two handheld videos directly on your phone, so you can precisely compare performances right after each attempt. All you need is your smartphone. What is GhostIt? 2/5. How GhostIt works: GhostIt takes two clips and automatically aligns Clip B to Clip A. The concept itself is nothing new. In the VFX industry, where I work, we do this kind of image alignment every day. Traditionally, though, doing this requires specialized software, hardware, and technical skill. GhostIt puts that technology on your smartphone and makes it automatic. No special skill. No special setup. Just choose your clips and let GhostIt align them. What is GhostIt? 3/5. Why on-location matters: Why does automatic camera alignment on your phone matter? Because you can compare your attempts while you're still training. On the chairlift before your next run. At the skatepark between attempts. On the drive back while your buddy is your chauffeur. Anywhere. No internet connection required. No computer. One button. What is GhostIt? 4/5. Using GhostIt with your editing software: GhostIt isn't trying to replace your video editing software. GhostIt's main purpose is automatic camera alignment and performance comparison on-location. But you can also export the aligned Clip B and bring it into your editing software. GhostIt does the alignment. What you do with it afterward is up to you. What is GhostIt? 5/5. Is GhostIt AI? No. GhostIt's automatic camera alignment is not generated by AI. Precise video alignment requires consistent and repeatable results across the footage. Today's generative AI tools are great at creating images and video, but they're not best suited for this kind of precise, iterative process. Try giving the same two handheld clips to your favorite AI model and ask it to align and composite them the way you want. GhostIt was built specifically to do this. That's also why GhostIt processes everything directly on your device. Your videos stay private. No footage is sent to commercial AI models or external processing services.

Built by a lifelong athlete and visual effects engineer, also GhostIt's most demanding user.
